Canvas Connect (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a personal, non-commercial project operated by an individual (“Dav”). By creating an account, you confirm you have read and agree to this policy. Contact: davitintern@gmail.com
Offered to students worldwide who use Canvas. You must be at least 13. Not directed to children under 13; we do not knowingly collect their information.
Account details (email, display name, a securely hashed password we never see), your Canvas connection (personal access token + school URL), your Canvas academic data (courses, assignments, due dates, grades, submissions, announcements, syllabus text, exam dates, credit hours), and basic usage records. GPA inputs and focus-timer sessions stay only in your browser. No payment data, no ads.
Only to provide the app to you: syncing, dashboard, grades/GPA, AI summaries and guidance, drafting emails you request, and (operator account only) Discord notifications. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Some features send relevant text (assignment instructions, syllabus content, grade context, and study materials you upload such as Markdown or PDF text) to a third-party AI provider, DeepSeek, which may process it on servers outside your country. We never send your Canvas password or token to the AI provider. Uploaded files are read for the request and are not stored as a permanent library.
Supabase (database, auth, backend), Vercel (hosting), DeepSeek (AI), Discord (operator notifications only). They may store/process data in the US and other countries.
Encrypted (HTTPS) transport; row-level security isolates each user; your Canvas data is only reachable via your authenticated session. No system is perfectly secure.
You control it — revoke anytime in Canvas (Account → Settings → Approved Integrations); revoking stops syncing.
Access, correct, delete, or export your data, and withdraw access anytime by revoking your token and/or deleting your account. Email davitintern@gmail.com. We honor GDPR/CCPA rights where applicable.
Kept while your account exists; deleted on account deletion (provider backups persist briefly). Material policy changes update the date/version and may require re-acceptance.
Canvas Connect uses artificial intelligence to help you study and save time. This agreement explains how AI processes your data and the limits of what AI produces. By creating an account you agree to it alongside the Privacy Policy. Contact: davitintern@gmail.com
Assignment summaries, “Ask your syllabus” answers, study guides built from notes you upload, extension-email drafts, rubric-based feedback on drafts you paste in, and your daily focus note.
Only the text a feature needs to do its job — for example assignment instructions, syllabus content, a short summary of your grade context, the notes or PDF text you upload, and any draft you choose to check. That text is sent to a third-party AI provider, DeepSeek, which returns the result.
Your Canvas access token, your Canvas password, and your Canvas Connect login password are never sent to the AI provider. AI features send content, not credentials.
DeepSeek processes the text on its own servers, which may be located outside your country, and its handling is governed by its own terms. We send only what a feature needs; we do not sell your data, and we do not use your data to train any model.
AI output is generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Predicted grades, rubric scores, summaries, answers, and drafted emails are study aids, not official or guaranteed results. Canvas Connect is not your instructor and does not set your real grades. Review everything before you rely on it or send it.
The app never submits work, sends a message, or takes an action on your behalf without you reviewing and confirming it first. Using AI features is optional — if you don’t use them, that content is not sent. Continuing to use them means you accept this processing.
